Polls closed about half an hour ago. So I figured I’d check the results. So far:
17 of 55 precincts reporting –
Mayor – Fraim 83%, Montague 17%
Ward 1 – Williams 57%, Saunders 43% (2/6 precincts)
Ward 2 – Whibley 69%, Wallach 25%, Belin 5% (7/15 precincts)
Ward 5 – Wright 56%, Osburn 42% (1/10 precincts)
Write-ins account for the difference. Speaking of which, I got an email last night about a write-in candidate in Ward 3. More in a bit
Coming in fast! Now 31/55 precints
Fraim 78 Montague 21
Williams 57 Saunders 41
Whibley 66, Wallach 28
Wright 55 Osburn 45
About that write-in candidate in Ward 3: so far Burfoot has gotten 92% of the votes cast with 6 of 12 precincts reporting
Well, looks like Barbara Saunders has lost. All 6 precincts have reported in and the vote is 56% Williams , 44% Saunders
With 9 of 15 precincts reporting, Whibley is holding a 66% to 28% edge over Wallach in Ward 2.
8 of 10 precincts reporting in Ward 5. Wright leads Osburn 56% to 43%
We’ve been stuck on 37 out of 55 precincts for while. Wonder what the slow down is?
Total votes cast so far (37/55 precincts) for mayor – 13,187. This is disappointing. I had hoped the turnout would be higher.
Just updated to 44/55 precincts reporting. Total votes for mayor 15,347
Ward 2 (12 of 15 precincts) Whibley 61%, Wallach 33%
Ward 5 (8 of 10 precincts) Wright 56%, Osburn 43%
Another Ward 2 precinct is in – now 13 of 15: Whibley 62%, Wallach 32%, Belin 6%
It just dawned on me that any absentee ballots are not being reflected in the totals.
The state website is running a bit behind the city’s but has the detail by precinct. I don’t see the precinct details on the city’s website.
With 12 of 12 precincts reporting, Burfoot has defeated the write-in candidate 93% to 7%
Another Ward 2 precinct is in. With 14 of 15 in, Whibley has 63% and Wallach has 32% with Belin just over 5%.
50 of the city’s 55 precincts have reported. We are still waiting on 1 precinct in Ward 2, 2 precincts each in Wards 4 and 5.
For Mayor, Fraim is holding steady with 78% of the 17431 votes cast (50/55 precincts). I had expected him to get a higher percentage of the vote.
