Last night I received a press release regarding a write-in candidate for this ward. I had mentioned in an earlier post that I had heard that this was happening, but didn’t report it because I didn’t have confirmation.
With all 12 precincts reporting, it appears that the write-in campaign has failed to garner enough votes. Unofficially, Anthony Burfoot received 2256 votes to total write-ins of 164. Note that the write-in information does not show the person’s name, so I cannot confirm that all 164 votes went to the write-in candidate of the press release.
UPDATE: From the state’s website, the total (including absentee and provisional ballots) is 2206 votes for Burfoot and 162 write-in votes.
