Hell has frozen over: Murdoch holding Clinton fundraiser

Rupert Murdoch, of Fox News and other conservative news outlets, will be holding a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton this summer. As a frontrunner for the Democratic nomination for president, this seems more than a little odd. We all know that Hillary is trying to position herself as a middle-of-the-road candidate, going so far as to praise George Bush. But Murdoch, architect of the “vast right-wing conspiracy”?

One of the biggest problems I have with politicians is that they will do almost anything to get elected. (Note that I am differentiating here between politicians and elected officials. All politicians are elected officials but not all elected officials are politicians.) They have no backbone, no moral center, no core beliefs. Because of that, they are susceptible to the spin doctors (aka political consultants) and whatever the polls say.

I have respect for elected officials – on both sides of the aisle – who stay true to what they believe in. I may disagree with them but I respect them for standing up and being counted.

Hillary, as a politician, has lost my respect and support.
