The budget was approved today on a 5-2 vote. It includes another 1 cent reduction in the rate, making the total reduction 8 cents. The new rate is $1.27 per $100 of assessed value.
No report in who voted against the budget. Most likely it was Randy Wright and Don Williams, both of who were pushing for a greater reduction in the rate. At one point, both of them said that they would vote against the budget unless it included a reduction of 20 cents, but last week, Wright indicated he would support a 10-cent reduction because of the implementation of the deferral program.
UPDATE: Pilotonline has updated the story they posted yesterday with more details (same link as above) and it was indeed Wright and Williams who voted against the budget.
