Today, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum announced a project to make available on the internet 48 million pages of documents, 400,000 photos and 1,200 hours of video. They expect these items to be available in 18 months. Getting the remainder of the items online is expected to take a decade.
I’m a big fan of our 35th president, John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Although I was only a child, I remember distinctly the reaction of the adults around me when he was assassinated. I’ve read numerous books on the subject and have a collection of newspapers and magazines from the time of his death. I even have a copy of the famous Zapreuder film along with other, lesser known, videos from that horrible day. I really look forward to accessing these documents to get an even better sense of the man.
