The panel for the 8/15 fundraiser for the Norfolk City Democratic Committee has been announced and includes:
Congressman Bobby Scott – 3rd District
Dr. Glenn Sussman – Political science professor at ODU
Delegate Brian Moran – Democratic Caucus Chairman
David Wasserman – Deputy Director of Communications, UVA Center for Politics
The reception is from 6 to 7 pm, with hors d’oeures and a cash bar. The panel discussion starts at 7. As previously mentioned, tickets are $25 and the event will be held at the Ted at ODU. Contact Betsy for reservations.

The Deaniacs at JMU bowed in awe as David Wasserman mobilized hundreds of Wahoos for Dean, enough to bring him to UVA in 2003.
Wasserman has also provided help to enough Democratic campaigns to seriously contend with the delegate for the “Most Assists” award.

Interesting. I wasn’t familiar with him and while I read his bio, he seemed so…. young 🙂 All of the other panelists I knew would be good. I am looking forward to this event.
Ha ha. The untold story is that Wasserman really supported Gephardt…and then Clark!
What? No Phil? Is he in Vegas this month spending time with the professional girls he goes to see every August? How can it be that the panel would not include the Democratic candidate for Congress who hope to represent 100,000 Norfolkites, Norfolkians, Norfolkers…whatever. We should start calling Phil Haley’s Comet. They both come around what…every hundred years or so? Why wouldn’t Phil be included? Does he not want to speak in Norfolk? Is he anti-Norfolk? Has he ever been to Norfolk?
I don’t know. I wasn’t privy to the arrangements for this event. All I got was an email to save the date and then I got a copy of the invitation at Tuesday’s meeting.
We did invite Phil Kellam to be on the panel. He had scheduling conflicts. However, if his schedule frees up, we would love to have him participate in some way, as possibly a fifth panelist.
