From the Daily Press:
News Poll
Were Senator George Allen’s remarks racially insensitive?
No
From the Virginian-Pilot:
Instant Poll
Should Virginia Beach residents be allowed to park on their lawns?
Yes
No
I don’t care, as long as it’s not my yard
I guess parking on the lawn is more of a burning issue than a sitting US Senator welcoming a US Citizen to America.
Snap!
I’ve been told that this word to some people means N***** (and Mr. Allen is one of them)… This is truly gross.
33% think Allen’s remark was not racist. Same as shrub’s approval rating. Coincidence?
Allen “welcomes” Sidarth to America.
But…
Of course, Mr.Sidarth was born in Fairfax County, whereas the Senator was born in Whittier, California.
Perhaps it’s Mr. Sidarth who should be welcoming George Allen to Virginia.
Dan – you must have been reading the Pilot’s editorial. That’s the same point they made π
Well, the Pilot makes up for it with today’s editorial, IMHO. Ouch!
