This just in:
Grand Opening of Hampton Roads Headquarters!
It’s been a few weeks now since the Mason-Dixie poll results came out, showing support for the so-called “marriage amendment” at above 60%. But the pollsters only read the first paragraph! Another statewide poll shows that, when voters read the entire amendment, support for it drops below 50%. That means we’ve got to get voters to read that second paragraph! We can defeat this discriminatory amendment if, and only if, volunteers like you educate the voters about what it really means.
Enjoy cheese and wine and learn what you can do to stop the so-called “marriage amendment” at the same time!
When: Wednesday, August 23rd, 6:00-8:00 PM
RSVP and details: Jason@voteNOva.org
It’s great that people continue drawing attention to the amendment because the more attention the amendment receives, the more people begin to oppose it. I completely agree that most voters will realize how ridiculous the amendment is after they have read the second paragraph. (That is, if they haven’t already realized it after the first one).
Also, meetings such as the one in Hampton Roads will allow Virginians to discuss the amendment. That way, people who are undecided will have the chance to obtain more information about the two sides. I think everyone would agree that voters should have all the information possible before they go to the polls in November.
