I spent about 5 hours on the phone with Microsoft this afternoon troubleshooting a network problem (still unresolved) so just time for a few quickies.
Virginia Beach
Today’s article about the cost of the convention center makes me glad that I don’t live at the Beach. It seems that they thought they were going to get $10 million from the state to help pay part of the $207 million tab. So far, they have gotten $125,000 and it appears that’s all they are going to get. Ouch! Guess the Beach taxpayers are going to be picking up the rest of that tab.
Another day, another amendment poll
And another poll in which they failed to ask about the entire amendment. The Survey USA poll made the exact same mistake that the Mason Dixon pollster did earlier. By not asking about the entire amendment and only focusing on the first part, they do everyone a disservice. The Commonwealth Coalition’s poll shows that when people read the entire text of the amendment, support falls to below 50%. At some point, these polling outfits need to get their act together and poll on the whole amendment.
Who let the dogs out?
That seems to be what Dick Wadhams is saying about the never-ending bru ha ha about his boss’ remarks last week. Seems Wadhams wants some dogs of his own. I think Wadhams and the Allen campaign handled this whole incident poorly. And that’s why the Republican blogs didn’t come to his defense. Rather than letting the dogs loose, might I suggest Wadhams keep a leash on his candidate. Or a muzzle on him.
Kenton is the man!
OK, so he’s only 15, but while I’m having trouble figuring out how to get my podcast done, he’s left me (and everybody else) in the dust with his videocast. Good job, Kenton.
She’s back!
Alveta Ewell, that is. Ewell is back on the news on WAVY-TV 10 after a 3 month absence. She says it was medical leave. She also returned 40 pounds lighter. Good to have you back, Alveta. You were missed.
