More news on the Norfolk Ford plant from PilotOnline:
In a memo distributed to workers today, Local 919 chairman Ed Hay told employees he didn’t have information but “speculation leads me to believe that in the near future it will be announced that we will lose a shift permanently and the plant will idle sooner” than originally planned.
The local union leaders will travel to Detroit next week for a meeting with Ford officials and other union leaders from other plants.
It really doesn’t look good for the 2400+ workers at the plant. The original plan was to close the plant in 2008.
