OK, so somebody decided that Saturday night’s Redskin game against the Patriots should be blacked out in my area. As the result, I didn’t get to see the game. I didn’t listen to it on the radio, either. But it seems that I didn’t miss much, if this article is to be believed. 41-0 is pretty bad, even in preseason. Looks like every part of the team broke down in this one and contributed to the loss.
Maybe they can show something in Thursday’s game against Baltimore but I’m not expecting much. The last preseason game is usually just a final look at players on the bubble. So I think it is likely that the ‘Skins will end up the preseason with no wins.
I keep reminding myself that it is just preseason, and, after all, Gibbs lost all of the preseason games in a Super Bowl-winning year, but I’m getting a bit nervous.
I can’t see the game out here in Colorado! I listened to it on the radio, it sounded like a game under Norv Turner!
Someone please let me know what the heck is going wrong???
Vivian, won-loss means nothing in the pre-season. All that really matters is the starting guys getting in sync. Nobody runs real schemes in the pre-season.
The problem is that even Gibbs says the player focus is off, and when they truly tried to play hard, they failed.
Don’t sweat the pre-season at all. It’s just a tryout for backups.
I was expecting the offense to struggle–I was not expecting struggles from special teams units and the defense. New England was playing at game speed, the Skins were playing at practice speed. Definitely not good.
I’m putting my Super Bowl tix reservations on hold for the time being. I’m still optimistic that this team can get things rolling though. This is what preseason is for.
What do you guys think about the Carolina Panthers chances this year? We keep getting close. . .
As everyone else has been saying, it’s only the pre-season. But I agree, Vivian, it is a little worrisome. I’m thinking that the beginning of the regular season should hopefully provide us with some energy. We start off on a Monday night game and follow it up with a game against Dallas. Hopefully having two big time games will get the players hyped up.
On a note not related to the actual action, it should be interesting to hear Tony announce the Monday night game. I always loved listening to his radio show and watching him on PTI. It’ll be nice to have a hometown boy in the booth for a Nationally televised game.
