Man, I was so pumped for last night’s game. After all, the Cowboys lost on Sunday, so I was waiting for the icing on the cake: a Redskins’ win. I got my satellite radio – with Sonny, Sam and Larry – in sync with my satellite TV and settled in to watch. Instead, I saw flashes of what could be and a whole lot of the same old stuff. I know that installing a new offensive scheme takes time but I expected the defense and special teams to be further along. They weren’t and the ‘Skins lost.
Did anyone else see the graphic up last night that Joe Gibbs has never won a Monday night opening game?
And did anyone else notice just how much Joe Theismann is starting to look like Frank Gifford?
Next week: the Cowboys. Only one team in the NFC East won this weekend. And either the Cowboys or the ‘Skins are going to start the season 0-2. The way they are playing right now, I’d have to say it will be the ‘Skins.
Say it!
