Brian Moran named Sheriff’s Legislator of the Year

Brian MoranHouse Democratic Caucus Chairman Brian Moran was named the Virginia Sheriff’s Association Legislator of the Year at their annual banquet in Williamsburg Tuesday evening.

“The Virginia Sheriffs’ Association is pleased to recognize Del. Brian Moran as this year’s legislator of the year. Del. Moran has consistently demonstrated his support for the law enforcement community by placing the safety of Virginia’s citizens and our law enforcement officers among his highest legislative priorities,” said Sheriffs’ Association President John Jones.

Moran, who represents the 46th House District, has served in the General Assembly since 1995. Prior to that, he was a prosecutor in Northern Virginia.

The Virginia Sheriff’s Association has some 6,500 sheriffs and deputies throughout the commonwealth. Each year, the organization honors legislators who support law enforcement legislation in the General Assembly.
