The Virginian-Pilot started a 4-day series today of questions for the candidates for Senate and the 2nd Congressional district. Today’s question:
The country has been at war in Iraq for three years. To achieve victory, what remains to be done? And what does our nation owe the people of Iraq?
The candidate’s answers:
- George Allen: Iraqis must carry the burden in Iraq
- Jim Webb: Taking steps toward the end of the occupation in Iraq
- Thelma Drake: When Iraq is a democratic nation, we’ll bring the troops home
- Phil Kellam: We need a new plan to suceed in Iraq
Although he is unopposed, I would have liked the Pilot to include 3rd District Congressman Bobby Scott in this. 4th District Congressman Randy Forbes has a challenger (the SBE website is down right now and I cannot remember the challenger’s name). Why were they not included?
