When I put this page up back in August, I announced what the page was for: a place for folks who were voting NO to declare such. At the top of the page is a warning that voting yes comments would be deleted.
To the anon poster (who lacks the cojones to use his/her name but attacks me) and all of the others: I have given ample opportunity on this blog for people to talk about the so-called Marriage Amendment, both pro and con. I have not deleted a single comment from a person voting yes posted elsewhere on this blog. I post almost daily on the amendment.
But my Voting NO page is there for a reason, one which should be obvious to everyone: I am an opponent of the amendment and the page is designed to ID others who feel similarly. If you have ever worked a campaign (and you, anon, and others who challenge my Voting NO page obviously have not), then you would understand voter IDs. When people canvass on behalf of a candidate, it is to ID voters that support that candidate. Do you think they keep track of those supporting the opponent? No, they don’t.
What you are asking – that I provide space for those supporting the amendment – is ludicrous. Should the Allen website provide space for Webb? Should the Drake website provide space for Kellam? Does any candidate provide space for the opponent to make their case? Absolutely not.
Any number of blogs out here could have started a vote yes page. Lord knows there are enough blogs out there who do support the amendment. The fact that none of them chose to do so is their problem, not mine.

I was quite respectful, if you are referring to “crap” let me rephrase, if you keep up this lousy style of journalism, hiding behind, well a candidate doesn’t have to leave space for comments why should i?
a blog post here or there, is not the same as a heading file, called vote no, i understand you will vote no, and that is your right, but you are being very biased. Imagine if i took my blog and said, ok tell me why you support Allen, and i will delete you for supporting Webb…it is sad, as i said before and poor sportsmanship

The amendment is a good thing, if you believe marriage is BETWEEN ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN, if not than you obvously will not support this amendment.
I wish that all those opposed would stop hiding behind the arguments of the termonology is wrong, or it will harm you and your children, just come out and say,
i support marriage between “something” other than between JUST one man and one woman.

Despite his “blatent” spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors, Anon (Mr. Lacking-in-cojones) does raise a good point. The idea of a site solely for the purpose of like-minded people congregating and telling each other just how right they are does nothing but to buffer their collective ego. Instead of coming up with new, creative arguments that would possibly convince others to join your cause, you are simply reusing tired conversations, because there is no one to disagree. Rather pointless. A waste of time.
However, Mr. Lacking-in-cojones, why are you complaining? She is right, it is her blog, it is her rules. Plus, it gives your side an advantage – why complain when they are spending time online talking to each other instead of getting people out to “Rock the Vote!” ? Leave them to their own pathetic devices.

Allow me to come to Vivian’s defense here. She does allow me to post quite a bit here, just not on that particular page. Granted, some people are not just adding their names to the “Vote No” role, but also posting their reasons for doing so. We do not agree with those reasons (sometimes they show an appalling lack of knowledge about the Constitution), and feel compelled to respond. However, that is not the purpose of that particular page.
I am sure Vivian will allow you to post elsewhere.
I think the opposition folks are whining again. It seems unless they have total control they aren’t happy…

Iraq – we had bad intelligence, but I don’t mind losing a few lives to oust Hussein considering the hundreds of thousands that he slaughtered while in power.
