The Washington Redskins had another awful outing yesterday. Every aspect of the game suffered: the offense – scoring only 3 points, the defense – surrendering 365 yards, and the special teams.

Losing Clinton Portis for however long with a broken hand just topped off everything.

Here’s what I say: the season is already lost. Let’s start looking towards next year. And that means we need to make a change a quarterback. Time to give Jason Campbell some time under center. The kid needs to be developed and sitting on the bench isn’t helping.

The team needs some discipline. All of those penalties have got to stop. Perhaps the team should institute some kind of fine for them, to make clear how much penalties hurt the team.

I’m not going to stop rooting for the ‘Skins (hey – the Dallas win last week was sweet 😉 ) but changes need to be made.

  1. According to the Pilot, the new quarterback was going in yesterday in the 4th, but the skins offense never got back on the field.

    I was surprised how many personal fouls there were yesterday.

  2. It’s hard to understand the Redskins this year. As much as I admire Joe Gibbs, to a great extent the problems with this season’s team seem to be flowing from the coaching staff down through the players. And, I agree that it’s time to give Campbell a chance to play.

  3. Insider – they were going to bring in Todd Collins, a veteran QB who understands the system. I think we are past that point. If the new system is here to stay, let Campbell get in there and learn it along with everyone else.

    Oh wait, my post was going to be about what needs to be said to the GOP leadership… What? wait… Oh you were talking about football… That’s different all together… Never mind. 🙂
