One really nice benefit of using WordPress as a blogging platform is the integration of the spam filter provided by Aksimet. The filter is an intelligent one, in that it learns what is spam and what isn’t. While the occasional spam post gets thru and the occasional legitimate post gets blocked, the overwhelming majority of spam gets caught by the filter. Since starting my blog here, Askimet has caught more than 20,000 spam posts, most of them generated by those insidious spam bots.
I only wish the spam filter on my email accounts worked as well. If spam is an issue for you, by all means check out WordPress.com.
Oh – and to all of those who think that spamming is cool, I can only say stop wasting your time trying to spam WP blogs. It ain’t working 😈
I hear you on that one, Vivian. Between the time I left my office yesterday evening and came in this morning, I received 75 emails — 60 of which were spam. Not cool.
Speaking of workpress, could you please go help bearing drift?
I just emailed him. Hope it works 😉
Amen, sister!
Yet another reason for my big switch!
