I received an email Friday evening regarding a new feature at Pilotonline. Ever wanted to respond to a letter to the editor in the Virginian-Pilot but just didn’t feel like taking the time to do so? Now you can do it online. Sunday’s VP announced the official launch of bLetters:
By turning each letter into a blog post, far more people will be able to debate far more issues than ever before. Just point your browser to http://www.pilotonline.com/bletters . If you want to add your two cents, click the “Add a Comment” link after each letter.
Each bLetter will be kept for a month to allow a conversation to run its full course. And a search engine makes it easier to find what you’re interested in.
Head on over and check it out 😉 The letters go back to November 15 so have at it. I see that some of the online regulars at Pilotonline have already added some of their comments.
Just another way MSM is trying to be like the blogs.
Kinda funny that the left of the blogosphere is excited about this. I, for one, think it shows MSMs desparation at relevancy and will not link to it.
Jim, Jim, Jim, now you’re coming to Vivian’s blog to pick on me? Will this outrageous vendetta never end?
We are not desperate. We’re, uh, belatedly competitive.
Now that is a funny exchange! Thanks for the afternoon chuckle.
I myself adhere to the rule “Never pick fights with folks who buy ink by the barrel.”
The Pilot is calling the new feature bletters. That raises a host of questions. For instances, will the bletters be bledited before bappearing on the binternet? Or will they be bunmoderated? Just basking. . . . !

Jim – not sure why you think reporting something means we are excited about it. A lot of the LTEs don’t interest me (mainly because they are in response to articles that we in the blogosphere read days before the Pilot picked them up and we’ve already discussed them to death 🙂 ) but a lot of folks just don’t read blogs every day.
Plus – I have to admit it will make it easier to link to the letters now.
