I was unavailable to participate in the last Bearing Drift podcast so I figured I’d better get my picks up before the games start. Remember, last weekend I went 3-1 😉 My picks this week:
- AFC – Both the Colts and the Patriots bring identical 14-4 records into this game, which is being played at the RCA Dome. I actually like both teams. Tom Brady and the Patriots seem to bring their A-game at the end of the season. But Peyton Manning and the Colts are unbeaten at home this season. Add to it that I think Peyton is the best QB in the league – bar none – and I want to see him win a Super Bowl (I would hate to see him suffer the fate of Dan Marino), I’m picking the Colts.
- NFC – Well, the Redskins aren’t here and no other team from the NFC East is here, so I really don’t have a horse in this race. The Saints (11-6) are almost a Cinderella team this year but the Bears (14-3), have been playing quite well. Given that they are playing in Chicago, I’m going with the Bears.
So, who are you picking to win today?
I’m rooting for Chicago, just so the mamby-pamby NFL and media can stop using the Katrina disaster for ratings and money.
But look for officials to throw flags on Chicago on key plays to make sure that their Katrinarella team is in the Super Bowl.
Colts & Patriots? New England has a funny way of finding a way to win in the post-season, but with these two, the home team usually wins. Probably the same today.
I pic Chicago and Indianapolis. 🙂
