Received this notice via email regarding the Virginia Beach Taxpayer Alliance meeting this coming Saturday, February 24:
Dr. James Koch will provide an economic overview of our region and what can be expected in the near and long-term as pressures continue to leave an imprint in our ability to expand and adjust to market forces. Recession, inflation, a trained workforce, unemployment and the continued war on terrorism all play a part in the successes of our region. These subjects and more will be presented by this highly respected economist and regional leader.
Dr. Koch is the former president of Old Dominion University and a world renowned author, economist and major proponent of utilizing technology to bring higher education to individuals who are place bound.
Breakfast ($3) begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by the speaker at 9 a.m. Meetings are open to the public and students are encouraged to attend. Directions: The meeting site is the Terrace Room, in the Marian Manor Retirement Center, Virginia Beach, on Marian Lane, just off Clearfield Street which runs between Virginia Beach Blvd. and Cleveland Street, directly behind St. Gregory’s Church. Go in the front entrance and straight back to the end of the building into the Terrace Room.
