Amy Krebs was quite forgettable, Haley Scranto was just a so-so singer, Rudy Cardenas had horrible enunciation and Paul Kim just picked the wrong song to sing. I really thought Sanjaya was going and was surprised that he was 4th among the boys. Guess he has a lot of teenage girl appeal – it certainly isn’t his voice.
Squeaky’s favorite Antonella Barba made it thru for another week π

I have to agree, I thought Sanjaya was gone too. The other 17 year old, Jordin Sparks, however, I believe had a decent showing and I was glad to see that she made it through.
In addition to Sanjaya, some of the people who I surprised to see make it to the next round were Sundance, Antonella Barba, and Alaina Alexander.
If I were to pick my favorites as of now (considering both personality and voice quality) I would have to say Lakisha Jones has it won fairly easily and Gina Glocksen, Chris Richardson, Blake Lewis, Chris Sligh, Jordin Sparks, and Melinda Doolittle will battle it out for 2nd.
Ugh, I can’t STAND Antonella Barba. That snotty little bi… Any-who, she may be gone sooner than you thnk… It appears there are a TON of nudie picks of the fair Antonella on more than a few entertainment blogs. Think Miss. Las Vegas or Miss USA. Better yet, think Paris Hilton wanna-be.
Remember what happened to Frenchy?
So, as predicted by yours truly, the true reason that Antonella Barba is so popular at home is because she is always open for business π
Hardly the Image American Idol wants to portray.
Nudie pics, huh? Guess I know where you’ve been spending your time, Squeaky π
I haven’t picked a favorite yet. LaKisha has the best voice but she doesn’t have the look, so I don’t expect her to win. Plus, it will be interesting to see how well she sings songs that aren’t her style.
I like Chris Sligh’s attitude and he’s got a pretty good voice. Again, though, he doesn’t have the look. Blake has a very nice voice.
I thought they said Sanjaya was in the top 4, not 4th….
What about this week?
Check out this post π
I think that it really isn’t up to the public any more and that the producers are having more say in who is staying and who is going that we ” the public ” think. Sanjaya should of been one of the first ones to go, and because some of the others are leaving before he is, is really upsetting you viewers. I really do believe that if he is on much longer that American Idol will lose alot of veiwers in the coming years of the show. It’s just not as good as it used to be.
And as far as Simon goes, Yeah he can be mean, but he is being truthful, and if they can’t handle a little constructive critisisim, then maybe they shouldn’t be on the show.
It so dosn’t seam to be up to the public at all anymore!!!!! It is very sad….
I think Melinda Doolittle is going to win. Either her, or Blake Lewis, they both deserve it, and are really good singers. Melinda, is just awesome every week, no complaints. Blake has the sweet beatboxing going on, but last night, I don’t think he did the best. LaKisha is good too, but I think she’s not the best of them; she used to be a whole lot better, but I don’t know. Jordin Sparks, the young one, is really good too, for her age, 17 years old is really good, and she can belt it out and did well last night. So, either Blake and Melinda are the winners, even though Jordin is good, LaKisha, I think is going home tonight.
The first thing is Melinda Do little should have never been kick off.
BA BA BA BA Blake should have taken Melinda’s place the show is for singing not acting like a Juke Box. Yea Melinda and Jordin now that would have made the greatest American Idol of all times.
I am proud to admit this. I am no fan of American Idol. Unfortunately, this program plays into our generation’s “starlet obsession”. I use starlet to describe both male and female singers. Next to baby, beauty pagents, American Idol is a program of flash, no-style and no substance. It lives as a primetime soap opera, complete with characters, storyline, underline plot and “twists”. Think about it. How real is it? The most successful American Idol contestant was Jennifer Hudson, a castoff. She was bashed cruelly by Simon Cowell himself on worldwide television. A Screen Actor’s Guild, a Golden Globe and an Oscar later, Ms. Hudson entered movie-star royalty with “Dreamgirls”. Of course, there was Taylor Hicks. Who? He was a pitchman for a car commercial. Carrie Underwood experienced great fame in country music. But, I only know her through she and Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo’s “friendship”. There is also, Ms. Kelly Clarkson, Miss Independent. She does look good in the Vitamin Water ad.
I only hope Jordin remembers she is seventeen years-old. She is seventeen years-old with a million-dollar contract, and million-dollar responsibilities. GET YOUR EDUCATION FIRST! BEFORE YOU GET THE BLING!
People want to take the easy road to success. American Idol-obsessed parents are now rearing kids to be superstars right from birth. It is not enough to live comfortable and be a good person anymore. The “bling-bling” is not a sure thing. Families are mortgaging their futures on showbiz dreams less likely than professional sports. If society worked as hard at eliminating racism, destroying poverty, instead of polling which singer sounds better, we wouldn’t have to look at Randy, Paula and Simon vote our children off every week.
