Happy Birthday, Mama!

Today is my mother’s 86th birthday (click to enlarge photo). Although I didn’t get a chance to visit with her, I did send some flowers and chatted on the phone. Mama said she had a good day, which is always a good thing.

My mother did a heck of a job raising eight kids while my father was away a lot. While she’s not as spry as she used to be, she still plays the piano and sings when she gets a chance. I’m grateful that my mother has lived so long.
