And we are down to twelve. Four more were voted off American Idol tonight.
The first casualty of the night was Jared Cotter, who sang a bad rendition of Stevie Wonder’s “If You Really Love Me.” Guess he didn’t get the memo about not trying to sing Stevie.
Next to go was Antonella Barba. You know, I heard Squeaky screaming “YESSSSSSSSS” all the way over here in Norfolk š
Sabrina Sloan was just too good to have been voted off. I think it was her style of music that cost her. Competing with Melinda and Stephanie over the contemporary R&B vote left her as odd woman out. Another one that I suspect we haven’t heard the last of.
At this point, there were two left standing: Sundance and Sanjaya. Both of them need to go but since only one slot remained, Sundance Head got kicked off. The judges were incredulous. Guess Sanjay’s hair saved him again.
One thing is for certain: Vote for the Worst couldn’t save its two “singers” this week. Guess they will be picking two more.

I wonder if people would have kept Antonella on if Simon hadn’t mentioned the “heat from the media” she’s been receiving — not because she’s good, just because some people might have wanted to force Idol to address the photos in one form or another.
I don’t think I can bring myself to believe that Simon has that much influence on the American people regarding who they should vote against and why. š The one remaining certainty about her, though, is that she’s going to make my commute and regular social routine brutal for the next few weeks if she comes back to work at the bar around the corner from my office. š¦
What is funny is that when they announced the Whore was leaving, I actually did jump up and yell, “YYYEEESSS”
As for Sanjaya, my only reaction was, “What the hell?”
I know you did – I heard you š
