Are you a psychopath?

I received this via email and figured I’d share to see whether there are any psychopaths among us 🙂 This is not a trick question.

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed him to be her dream guy so much, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him. A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive for killing her sister?

I’ll post the answer later 😉

  1. To see the guy again… Was her sister with the guy? Did she kill her to get her out of the picture and/or so he would show up at the funeral?

ooooo, wait… Was this her Brother-in-law she wanted?

I watch too much Law and Order 🙂

  2. That’s easy. The lady killed her sister because she is expecting that guy to show up again to the next funeral. I’m not a psychopath, by the way. I’m just pre-Law.

  3. So why kill the sister? Wouldn’t killing her father, or brother accomplish the same thing? What is the significance of it being her sister that she kills?

  4. Anon (whose not me),

Killing the sister invites an answer searching for a connection between the female victim and the male intended as an explanation for the murderess’ mens rae. An old detectives saying holds that there are no innocent victims, so we usually search for motive by examining the relationships of the victim.

If you naturally saw the link between the murder and the male as not being the victim, but the funeral, then your mind works differently than anyone else’s. There’s definitely a logic behind the answer, but it generally demonstrates a blatant disregard for human life (since in this instance the sister DOESN’T matter, and it COULD be a father or brother).

  5. My first guess was her sister ended up with him. Then I started wondering how her mother died. Which led me to question if the only purpose for the man was to convey how illrational her state of mind might be. Then I saw Carla’s theory and thought it too clever not to be true, only to then wondered if that was my growing up watching Alferd Hitchcock Presents effecting my judgement. Which led me back to my earlier thoughts. So one theory I haven’t heard is that she killed her mother and than killed her sister to cover it up.

Also “killed” might be a key to consider. Was it murder or an accident?
