Eaglets at NBG

I live across the street from the Norfolk Botanical Gardens. Since moving here, my exposure to wildlife has increased exponentially. Once tax season is over, I’ll go back to walking daily thru the gardens.

One thing that is really cool is that there is a Bald Eagle nest at the Gardens. This year, three eaglets have hatched. In partnership with WVEC and the VA Department of Game and Inland Fisheries, a web cam has been installed near the nest. You can view the webcam here.

Someone captured a bit of the video from the webcam and uploaded it to YouTube. Here are the parents feeding the babies. So cute πŸ™‚

  1. My family in Newport News sent me this link a couple of weeks back saying they are addicted to it. So now it is always on at our house too.
It’s pretty amazing to see the tiny, helpless, grey fluffs aside their huge, grown, majestic parents.
