Ralph Northam, the Democratic candidate for Senate in the 6th district, will be filing his financial reports showing a little over $170,000 raised from about 150 donors. Cash on hand will be a little over $150,000.
And he didn’t stop there. I understand that fundraising in April continues at a torrid pace. In the meantime, current seat occupant Nick Rerras has had no fundraisers since the General Assembly session concluded, making me think that his fundraising in the first quarter will be lackluster. Rerras had just over $110,000 on hand at the end of 2006.
Raising $170K is no small feat and my congratulations to Ralph for working hard towards victory in November!
So that puts at least three of the Democratic Senate challengers over $100K in the first quarter. RK previously reported that both Chap Petersen and Janet Oleszek are over.
Other fundraising totals I’m hearing:
- Joe Bouchard – after a late start, Bouchard will show about $8,500 raised with about $4,500 on hand.
- Bob MacIver – also a late start – about $3,000 on hand
- Bobby Matheison – about $60K raised, about $30K on hand
- Henry Light – about $140K on hand
Guess we’ll know soon enough, with tomorrow’s filing deadline.
hmmm…how does a guy spend $30,000 before his campaign kickoff?
Keep it coming! Nick “Feminazi” must go!
Thanks for putting that up, I just went and made a contribution to Northam through his website.
Does anyone know how Paula Miller’s fundraising is coming along?
Maria
I think that Nick will have a problem with fundraising this year, since I imagine most people do not want a bigoted ignoramus as an elected member of the Virginia State Senate. Although he has become a national celebrity with his views on mental illness and women. The lunatic fringe may adopt his cause. Maybe he can be Jim Gilmore’s running mate?
Of course, a liberal like Marcia Graham wouldn’t know the Constitution. You can’t vote in the Electoral College for a President and Vice President from the same state.
I was joking. You guys take everything so seriously. Get a life.
looks like nick hasa race on his hands, why has he not changed the dillon’s law send power back to local gov. that is what the GOP stands for local power, i forgot he will not have power if he changed the dillon’s law, time for a change.
No problem, #5.
Rerras – state of delusion.
Gilmore – state of denial.
P.S. When did the unitary executive decide that we could have our Constitution back?
$121,000 from his relatives and $47,000 from doctors at CHKD. Not exactly a grassroots campaign! Could it be that he thinks he can buy a senate seat? Don’t you think it gives this appearance?
wow well if you look where northams getting the money its not to impressive when its your dad whos ur biggest donor with 100k and urself close behind with 35k i hears is piggy bank has another 5 dollars why not try there next time maybe he can sway his mom for a couple of checks
Pick a handle & stick with it. That’s the third different one you’ve used here. And yes, I can tell you are the same person.
