If it only took $90,107 to run for president, I think there would be a lot more contenders. Heck I might even throw my hat in the ring at that price 😉
Former Virginia governor Jim Gilmore is just delusional. Does he think that by announcing his run people are going to flock to his campaign and shower him with money? That if he says it loud enough and long enough, voters will believe he is the only “conservative” in the field? HL says it best:
You see, like Brownback, McCain, Tancredo, Huckabee, Thompson and Gingrich, our former governor is the ONLY ‘real conservative.’
I guess by “conservative” Gilmore means he wants to do to the country what he did to Virginia: almost bankrupt it.
Of course, it could be that it is a “conservative” belief that one can win the presidency with no money and no support.
Yeah, right.

We’ve been joking about this up here. BOTH Jeannemarie Davis and Chap Petersen have more money each for a state senate race than Gilmore does for president.
Maybe they should enter the race 😉
So Jim Gilmore can do for the country what he did for Virginia –wreck its government and economy.
sometimes people run for president for a cause or for a cabinet apoinment, will see if gilmore spent money on one or the other.
Some of Gilmore’s money has already gone towards push-polling, which his campaign quietly disclosed to media outlets to demonstrate that with enough negative campaigning, a back-of-the-pack “real” conservative can discredit Romney, McCain and Giuliani and seize the nomination for himself.
I don’t think you’d field a poll with a question like “If you were told that Rudy Giuliani supported gay marriage and partial birth abortion, would you be more or less likely to vote for him?” if you were running to be secretary of agriculture. And to be fair, the conservative credentials of all the GOP frontrunners are somewhat-questionable. Gilmore’s not actually any more pure, mind you.
