Tonight’s American Idol results show resulted in two contestants being booted off. If you recall, last week was the big fundraiser so no one got voted off. Last week’s vote totals were combined with last night’s to decide who had to leave. Over 135 million votes were cast in the two weeks.
Last night was rough, in my opinion. With Gina gone, this group contains no real rockers so it was excrutiating to watch (and listen to) these people try to sing Bon Jovi music. I really felt sorry for Jordan, who performed quite poorly. Only Blake managed to keep his own style about him when singing this music. The rest tried – and failed – to sing rock.
First to go was Phil. Phil actually didn’t do badly last night but of the remaining contestants, he was probably the weakest.
Chesapeake’s own Justin Timberlake lookalike, Chris, was the next casualty. The rock genre really did him in, but his recent performances have been sub par. Too bad he won’t be around for Barry Gibb next week, as he would probably shine singing that music.
