Every year, a pair of Canada geese nest in my yard, at the water’s edge. The male is a ferocious bird, chasing away anything that comes around. Not only will be go after other geese, but I saw him chase off a Great Blue Heron a few days ago.
Yesterday, we caught a glimpse of some bundles of yellow fuzz. Lo and behold, there were babies – four of them, to be exact. (Click on image to enlarge.) Like last year, though, not all of the eggs have hatched. The mother remains on the nest, hoping that last egg will produce.
Isn’t spring fun?
