I just got a phone call from Susie Garner, who is running for the House of Delegates in the 5th district. No doubt I got the call because Susie, like me, is a CPA.
A quick check around the blogsphere reveals a couple a of posts on her announcement back in February here and here. Based on the numbers reported at vpap, she’s holding her own with raising money against incumbent Bill Carrico.
The General Assembly needs more business folks and Garner appears to fit the bill. Not only has she been a practicing CPA for a number of years (there is a difference between those of us who actually are in public accounting and those who carry the designation but are not in public accounting), she also served on the School Board for 12 years.
