The eldest child of renown civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. collapsed and died late Tuesday, according to this AP story.
Yolanda King was just 51.
“She was an actress, author, producer, advocate for peace and nonviolence, who was known and loved for her motivational and inspirational contributions to society,” the King family said in a statement.
My sympathies to her family.

I met her a couple of times, and she was a gracious and decent human being. I hope that her brothers pick up her ambitions and carry them forward.
This is just too darn young. I went to law school with her younger sister, Bernice. I join you in expressing sympathies to the family and her friends.
