Via the Virginian Pilot:
The York County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to reject the proposed Hampton Roads Transportation Authority, making it the first in the region to say no to the new body.
Four localities of the 12 have already approved the regional authority (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Newport News and Williamsburg). The others – the cities of Hampton, Chesapeake, Poquoson, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and the counties of James City and Isle of Wight – will vote on it soon. The mayors of Chesapeake, Hampton and Poquoson previously indicated that they would not support the plan.
