Yesterday, the Virginian Pilot weighed in on issue of Attorney General Bob McDonnell’s receipt of contributions from developer Dan Hoffler and the lack of progress in the investigation of him. Today’s Roanoke Times goes even further, saying:
Virginia deserves an attorney general who knows the difference between the appearance of impropriety and actual impropriety. McDonnell clearly does not.
Reasonable people can disagree on a lot of things but this isn’t one of them. This reflects badly on the AG and on his office. I agree with both editorials: finish the investigation and return the money.

Sideshow Bob is not setting himself up very well for the Governor’s race is he?
I love the way some politicians have a ‘do as I say, not as I do ‘ attitude. I wish Mr. McDonnell would not bring negative fame to hiomself as the Attorney General. It is unseemly and dishonest.
Impropriety? Did we miss the article in today’s WashPost regarding Gerry Connolly?

Connolly should return the money, too.
Should Kaine and Warner return the contributions they received? Hoffler has given to Dems three to one and was even appointed to the game board by Mark Warner.
McDonnell and the OAG is doing the right thing with this investigation, taking their time and not talking about an ongoing investigation. This is merely people taking partisan shots at him when he’s unable to properly respond and defend himself. Let the investigation run its course.
