Bay Oaks Park update

I received the following postcard:

Dear Friend of Bay Oaks Park

As a result of the Virginia Supreme Court’s recent decision in favor of the Bay Oaks Park Committee, this Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at 7:00 p.m., the Norfolk City Council is expected to vote to rescind the ordinances passed on July, 2005, which would allow for the development of Bay Oaks Park. The ordinances were the basis of our petition initiative two years ago. We invite you to attend the upcoming council meeting and witness this significant event.

The Mayor has indicated a willingness to work with the Bay Oaks Park Committee for an acceptable solution after Tuesday’s vote. We will continue to keep you informed of developments and seek your input as we have in the past. Feel free to call us at 714-2787 for more information, and thank you for your support.
