In this poll, 52% say they would not vote for Hillary Clinton for president. Reading thru the comments, I found an excellent question:
Any idea where all those negatives come from? Stupid partisan comments that throw more heat than light are NOT welcome. I can see anti-war people having a beef with her. I can see Bill Clinton haters transferring the hate to her. Some people don’t like that she tried to reform health care (can’t understand why that is a problem). I think some of it may be people who don’t like women who aren’t in their place. Otherwise what gives — her positions and agenda are little different from the other Democrats?
Good question. And given how well she performed the other night, a valid one. So why do so many people – including Democrats – say that they absolutely will not vote for Hillary?
I understand, anonymous. In college, my first-year roommate belonged to Young Americans for Freedom. It was the same struggle to understand the twisted/missing logic and fact-free but passionate, seemingly immutable beliefs. And no, we didn’t room together the following year, or ever again. Come to think of it, maybe Mouse is my former roommate. Gotta go!
Well, Vivian, you asked the question. I guess y’all just can’t handle the answers.
I don’t know where you got from that we can’t handle the answers since you have yet to provide one.
Then let me repeat myself (and add a few more):
Whitewater
Rose Law Firm records “found” by HRC in White House
Hugh Rodham’s unregistered lobbying
Vince Foster’s “murder/suicide”
She keeps “redefining herself” (with phony accents, too)
Moving to NY to run for Senate
Her disrespect for women who stay home to take care of their children (and bake cookies)
Her blaming everyone but her husband for his philandering
Her disrespect for the military
Her not being bothered to read the intelligence reports before sending our soldiers to war
Her sucking up to Mrs. Arafat, wife of a terrorist
Her trying to take over the U.S. health care industry
Her attempt to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants
She’s a socialist
Is that enough?
On the other hand, Bill did hand the House, Senate, and Presidency over to the Republicans. Maybe Hillary will do it again.
Ding! I think we’ve got our answer. Anyone want to be the bookmaker for the bet that we’ve got one _very_ upset Keebler Elf on hand?
BM, do you have anything besides ad hominem attacks?
As Vivian’s post says, “52% say they would not vote for Hillary Clinton for president.” I’m not alone. If you want to win in 2008, you might consider listening to someone in that 52%.
Quiet, Mouse. And get back in the kitchen and knit me a sweater.
Some of this is kind of interesting. My favorite is “blaming everyone but her husband.” I’ve heard from multiple people who were there that she physically hit him when he told her–but I’ve also heard the same criticism from other women, some of whom are divorced and some of whom are still married to their own cheating abusive bully husbands. And I hear this predominantly from women (four times out of five). I’m still trying to understand why Hillary isn’t actually the only truly innocent victim. The worst thing Hillary did was show loyalty to a husband who hadn’t been especially loyal to her. I guess I still have a long way to go when it comes to understanding women, but my girlfriend could have told you that already. 😉
Mouse, you’re not a simplistic person. Based on some of the quotes you’ve pulled out sometimes, I’m fairly certain you’re better-read than most. I have to say, though, some of those statements you made are a tad simplistic or even misinformed. Disrespecting our military? If it was Kerry I’d know what you were talking about, and I’d agree with you. And Hillary gets so much flak from the left for insisting that she made the best decision she could with the information she had at hand. It was John McCain who admitted to voting to authorize the Iraq War without reading the full National Intelligence Estimate.
Anyway, I think I’ve got the answer I was looking for, although it’s not to the question you’re thinking of. 🙂
added: holy cow, MB….
“And Hillary gets so much flak from the left for insisting that she made the best decision she could with the information she had at hand.”
Perhaps she should have actually READ the information she had at hand. It seems the only information she cared about were the poll numbers.
I warned you, anonymous. If you give a Mouse a cookie ….
I LOVE that book!!
See, we agree on that and Bill Richardson!
Hillary Clinton For President
As much as the idea of a woman becoming president for the first time In our history and as much as a lot of us like Hillary Clinton as a person and now a U.S. Senator, I don’t think she should get the nomination as a Democrat. If she did, the GOP and the Clinton hater cult would go into overdrive seeking to deter her from getting anything done. Imagine someone reinstituting the whitewater investigation or dredging u the rumors about Mrs. Clinton and Vice Foster. We have a chance at getting national-universal healthcare, but the medical lobbyist will go ballistic to defeat it just because the idea is an idea she has championed. In January 2001, I had Clinton fatigue. I am tired of Bush now, so we all need a fresh start!!
Condi Rice for President!!
(I should live so long.)
