Northam tops $383K

Ralph NorthamThe next senator from the 6th district, Ralph Northam, will show over $383,000 raised so far in this race with cash on hand in excess of $275,000. This puts Northam’s fundraising to date close to the amount that incumbent Nick Rerras raised in total in 2003.

$110,000 raised in one month! And I understand that the money is starting to flow easier for Ralph now as more and more people become familiar with him and his message. Ralph has been spotted all over the district, from Matthews to the Eastern Shore, knocking a couple of thousand doors a week.

At the end of the last reporting period, Northam had $82K more on hand than Rerras. Will that gap widen? Stay tuned. Although the filing deadline was 5pm today, the reports are not yet on line.

Kudos to Karen Schultz, the Democratic candidate in the 27th Senate district. She has raised $109K this month, and has $180K on hand.

NLS is reporting that Chap Petersen has outraised Jeannemarie Devolites-Davis this month. Also, Janet Oleszek has outraised Ken Cuccinelli.

  1. “Ralph has been spotted all over the district, from Matthews to the Eastern Shore, knocking a couple of thousand doors a week.”

A couple of thosand doors a weeks?

I know he’s a good candiate, but is he really Superman?

  2. I suggest everyone get in the habit of expecting Big Things from Ralph Northam. If he wins this November (and he’s well on his way), and if he performs well in the Senate, we should expect to see this man on his way to higher office.
