According to the Virginian Pilot, Atlanta Falcons quarterback and Newport News native Michael Vick and three of his associates have been indicted on federal dog fighting charges.

Now, when do we tear down the Vick Museum celebrating, ignorance, greed, violence, corruption, immorality, arrogance, selfishness, etc., at Virginia Tech. A state educational institute and home of the worst mass murder in US history.
Still can’t understand the mindset that allowed this to happen at Virginia Tech?
My brother is a student at Virginia Tech, Mr. James. He’s never watched one dog kill another. He doesn’t drink and doesn’t smoke. Unlike Marcus Vick, he’s never had sex with a minor, nor has he ever brandished a firearm in a McDonald’s parking lot. He’s a sweet kid who looks out for his friends and always takes time to listen to someone’s problems, even if he doesn’t actually HAVE the time to do that. And while I didn’t go to Virginia Tech, myself, I’ve been there often enough to visit him that I know there are far more students like my brother living in Blacksburg than there are quarterbacks for the school’s football team.
I cannot believe you have the audacity to impune the reputations of thousands of completely normal students based on the behavior of a few spoiled athletes, but what is worse is that you seem to think that the behavior of these miscreants somehow justifies or rationalizes the behavior of a murderous sociopath who, it should be noted, didn’t shoot anyone from the football team, but instead swept up a score of completely normal students who simply were unfortunate enough to be in the wrong classroom.
I hope you at least have the common decency to feel ashamed of yourself for what you’ve written.

Not quite sure what my statement had to do with your son or any other law abiding, tax paying citizen of the Commonwealth of Virginia?
However, the bureaucrats running the state and VA Tech, have allowed the Vick family and other miscreants, to blemish one the best Universities in the country, by tolerating and celebrating their illegal, immoral, ignorant, behavior, with a Museum at the Stadium to M. Vick and criminals accepted to VA Tech for sole purpose of making millions for the coach and the state at the expense of virtue, respect, morality, and excluding harding working eligible citizens of the state who want an education.
Ashamed of WHAT? Not doing more to change the way this state is run? Surely! Of telling the truth? Not a chance!!!!
IMO the authorities at the school had a 2 hour window to shut the school down 4/16, as they did when a murder took place at the Hospital last fall 06′ and again the following day. Yet because they didn’t want anymore bad press or the loss of money, they hesitated, and cost 31 folks their lives plus life changing injuries for many others! And more same and pain for the state and the nation!
We have a corrupt and broken mental health, legal, corrections, and probation systems in the state!
2 more people have died in the care and custody of mental health facilities workers and another seriously wounded in the last 2 months. Does anyone care or even know? People mental illness, which are disease and injury of the brain are treated like 3rd class citizens and cast aside with no credibility or rights.
People with menatl illness are much more likely to be victims of violence vs. the cause of violence, yet the sterotype is juut the opposite, and what Kane and his crew are doing make the chances of anyone seeking help for mental illness that much more remote!
I’m ashamed of the behavior of the state I was born in and reside and it’s treatment of the most vulnerable among us, and the worship of money, greed, and the wealth over anything else, regardless of Character, Integrity, Virtue, or Education!
I lived in Blacksburg in the early 80’s, have an Uncle who put himelf through engineering school in the 40’s, put a spouse through a Masters degree there, and have a son on the deans list there. Helped build the Vet School with Jesco International. I think I have a little invested in my opinion, interest, and concern!
You think Vick made the right decision to drop out for MONEY!? I wonder how much he will have left when this is over, and he’s faced with the rest of his life? Any chance morals, ethics, and integrity need to be required classes for all students?

Also, ask why the State and county failed to indict Vick, and the Feds had to do it? Because even after becoming the home to the worst mass murder in US history Virginia still can’t do the right thing.

All people who participate in dog fighting are scum-sucking lowlifes. I plan to write congressman to support strict prison sentences for those who participate in such sick, evil activities. They deserve to go to prison for a very, very long time.

If Dog fighting is cruel What else. I believe in protecting animals. I want to have the breed discontinued or severely limited because of this type of behavior. Dog fighting was legal inthe US until the late 1800s. So it was done here as a legitimate sport.
I have one question. If Dog fighting is cruel(I believe that it is) How many quail did Dick Cheney kill on the day he accidentally shot his friend 40 or 50 so why are we not protesting that also.
