The NFL has ordered Atlanta Falcons QB and Newport News native Michael Vick to not come to camp, the Virginian Pilot reports.
“While it is for the criminal justice system to determine your guilt or innocence, it is my responsibility as commissioner of the National Football League to determine whether your conduct, even if not criminal, nonetheless violated league policies,” Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote in a letter to the Atlanta Falcons quarterback.
Preseason training camp starts Thursday and although Vick will not be there, he will be paid.
If the conduct does not violate league policies, then the policies need to be changed. The indictment of Vick contains some pretty sick stuff. I would think that the league should easily be able to suspend Vick – without pay – based on the charges alone. Yeah, I know the whole “innocent until proven guilty” stuff. But surely the league has a policy on conduct unbecoming a player. If this doesn’t fit the bill, I can’t imagine why not.

what happened to michael along the way? Anyone see a problem here? Anyone see it while in h.s. or college?
There has to be some pattern that evolved.
I live in NN and heard nothing.
I’ve met Vick several times (both him and his brother) and I’m stunned.
