Tomorrow morning, State Senator Nick Rerras (R-6th) will be the speaker at the Republican Party of Virginia Beach’s breakfast. The meeting is at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 4453 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach. 8:00 AM, doors open, 8:30 AM.
Now I understand that the meetings are for Republicans only and that no recording devices are allowed. I have to wonder: what do they have to hide? Shouldn’t the event be open to the public? And, given that this is campaign season, shouldn’t a recording of the event be allowed?
Somebody help me out here.

As to your question “What do they have to hide?”, I quote our former Sec. of Defense “Who knows!”… As to a recording of the event —
they’re probably afraid of another “macacca” event. Perhaps it’s the new white house/republicon “zip-lip policy”, or it could be in the interest of national security. Again, quoting the Donald “Who knows!” AND who cares…
I do believe that your question should be directed to Senator Rerras. Have you asked him? If so, what did he have to say about it. I suggest that you record his answer.
When I was a reporter in upstate New York, many years ago, both the Democrats and Republicans were happy to have anybody show up and cover their events. They wanted to get their names and positions out to the voting public.

Yep! Democrats have so little to offer voters this year, they’re actually more interested in going to Republican events than having their own.
Yep! Republicans have so much to hide, they must exclude all but their own inner circle and forbid recording of any kind.
Dreadful thought: how do they know who’s a Republican? Is there a secret decoder ring, a Dark Mark, or do they just KNOW?
Voters are interested in why their ELECTED OFFICIALS are refusing to have their statements be recorded.

well the way i see it is they have two options, stop using racist remarks in their talking points, or close the events to the public. The second was much more easier for them.
We tried recording Democrat speeches in Virginia Beach, until we found that there weren’t any.
