The Democratic Party of VA has launched a new website – They Don’t Get VA – aimed squarely at Republicans who, well, just don’t get it 😉
This is going to be interesting.

Wonder what Creigh Deeds thinks of this positive campaigning….
Don’t worry Brian, you still have your happy little site to say positive things on. Have fun, be happy.
You mean factual descriptions? How negative! Truth hurts, doesn’t it?
Oh give it up Brian. Pointing out the the public positions of candidates you don’t agree with or their failure to attend meetings of board they are on is not an unfair attack. And I’ve never noticed any shyness on your part about actual ad hominen attack on Democrats.
Schoolyard bullies always hate it when their victims fight back. Unfortunately, Democrats are fighting back more and more. We aren’t the Bob Shrum party anymore.
I certainly don’t think we should launch personal attacks on candidates for things that are irrelevant to their positions, policies, or competence in office. But debating their publicly stated positions or challenging their competence for the job are fair game on both sides.
Democrats can’t get close to the hate mongering that goes on in the Greasy Old Pervert party. It’s their m.o. Get over it.
AIAW, I also didn’t stand up and give a speech about how the “tone” of politics must change.
Fighting back? That website attacks a Republican for voting for a budget that every Democrat in the General Assembly voted for too…a fact they leave out.
You support that misleading kind of politics?
Brian, to see what I actually support, click on my name in my post and it will take you to my site. It’s all about you anyway. At least, you are in the lead sentence. 🙂
And it will tell you exactly what I think on the subject.
And FR, not all Republicans are hate mongering perverts. They do disagree with Democrats. And it’s fair to debate those disagreements. Not to call them names.
And I don’t care if some of them do that. We don’t have to. That might be one of our differences. Let’s stick to the relevant issues and to competence for the job.
meanwhile you call me a “dog”
Oh no, I didn’t mean you or SW were dogs. That was just an expression for a snappy title. If I implied that, I will publicly apologize. That was never, never my intention and I never even made the connection. I am so sorry if you picked that up.
Brian, I updated the site to make it clear I didn’t mean you. I wouldn’t call you that ever. I would simply disagree with you on positions.
Thanks. My point is this. Criegh said we should promote discussion and not argument. Honestly, which do you think a site called “They don’t get VA” promotes?
The truth.
Brian, I will try to answer your points over on my site but it probably won’t be until late tonight or tomorrow as I’m out of pocket. But you did raise some good questions that deserve some thought and answers. I’m not ignoring them but it may take a day or so before I can get to them. And thank you for going over there.
Thanks, AIAW!
