Federal prosecutors have offered Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick a plea deal that would recommend he serve at least one year in prison on a felony dogfighting conspiracy charge, according to two sources with knowledge of the discussions.
Interesting. The article also says that Vick has until 9am Friday morning to take the deal.
It will be interesting to see if this actually pans out.

One year in jail is not nearly enough for this waste of human flesh.
He should get a year for each and every dog found on or buried on his property. Nice how he can plead not guilty when he thought he could buy his way out of this. Now, he may plead guilty for lesser charges??
Guilty is GUILTY!!!! If he ever plays football again I will will sorely disappointed in the NFL. Animal abuse is wrong. Dogfighting is wrong.
These athletes who get paid all this money and are role models for our children should be held to a higher standard.

I pray that the NFL will do the right thing and bar Vick from football forever. Athletes get away with too much these days. They constantly show disrespect and there never seems to be consequences for their actions.
What Vic did was wrong — reprehensible — but it doesn’t merit one year in prison (at taxpayer expense). A far better punishment would be to force him to use his money and prestige to promote animal welfare or early childhood education or similar positive programs that our society so desperately needs. What a total waste it will be if Vic gets locked up – like so many other black men – instead of being used as a force for positive change.
WL – You have to be insane to think this piece of trash will change over night. Do you really believe that someone of this ilk will suddenly be a voice or face for animal welfare. Take his money – yes – but don’t use that face of evil for anything except a dart board.
Ok then, instead of using taxpayer dollars to keep him in jail, let’s wet him down and eletrocute him as he did to the dogs. No cost, no mess!
As far as he changing and being a positive force to promote animal welfare……seriously, who is ever going to believe he is sincere?? If he isn’t in jail and not playing football what do you think he will spend his ‘free’ time doing? Abusing more animals, no doubt.
The most I can hope for is that any outcome that ties Vick to betting on the dogfights could trigger a lifetime ban from the NFL under the league’s personal conduct policy and that he goes to jail. As for his money, yes I agree he should be fined millions and it should go to the Humane Society and other animal welfare establishments.
What these guys did to these dogs is sickening, how can anyone do that to another living creature?? It blows my mind. i agree with you john i hate mike vick i never have liked him what he has done is not called for and sick. but these are dogs not humans so stop acting like they are. a couple things here you people know if this was any other pretty boy white qb we would be saying he made a mistake lets move on and you know it. mike vick should serve lil time and do everything he possibly can to clear his name and make as many dog lovers happy as possible, you dont take a mans pride away like that after a big mistake you give hima chance to move on and do you guys know what prison does to you i think a couple months is enough not even 6 months too much. so stop acting like this is humans getting tortured they are dogs aka grusome pitbulls who dont deserve to die about have killed some there own (humans) vick will play again im sayin half way through next season. later bois
