Keep on doing what you’re doing, Bobby

Mathieson BadgeSome folks have nothing better to do than to make mountains out of molehills, especially when it comes to honest mistakes made by first-time candidates. Such is the case here. Bobby Mathieson’s career in law enforcement spans 30 years – he served as a Virginia Beach police officer for 26 years, nine months, to be exact – and he rightfully uses his badge in his literature. The Virginia Beach badge includes in its center the seal of the city, which is trademarked. As such, it cannot be used without permission.

Of course, somebody out there brought to the attention of the City Clerk that Mathieson was using the seal without permission. A letter was issued – which Mathieson has not even received – requesting that the badge either be removed or the city seal obscured.

The copy of the badge you see in this post was just obtained from Mathieson’s website. So even though he hasn’t gotten the letter, the Mathieson campaign has already complied. End of story.

Somebody must be really nervous about the Mathieson campaign. Keep on doing what you’re doing, Bobby. You’re gonna win this thing!

Let’s make sure that Bobby gets the win he deserves. Contribute and volunteer today!

  1. Great work, Spotter . . . great work.

These right-wing screw heads don’t have a problem making personal remarks or calling names until it’s done to them. Then they squeal and whine like piglets in a gate.

The main reason I’ve always enjoyed coming to Vivian’s blog is because there was little or none of the vituperative crap and it focused mainly on serious discussion of the issues. It always goes into the toilet when Kirwin or his ilk drop in and start whining and complaining. Why don’t they just stay over at Bearing Drift where people put up with that nonsense?

Brian is paid to make a lot of smoke and noise to keep the focus from being on “Doctor” (sheesh) Back Crack’s lousy legislative record. Too bad he’s not getting his money’s worth. Brian wouldn’t know what to do with a real issue if you shoved it in his mouth.

And I doubt Stolle advised them of anything — from what I’m hearing from other R’s, he can’t stand Welch and hopes he gets his head handed to him.

  2. Funny, IP, that you should say that I tried to smear Brian. In fact, I went to great lengths in the original post to not even mention him. I said it was a mistake and that the problem had been fixed.

Brian came over here and started the ruckus. As a matter of fact, Brian likely was the one who started this whole thing with the complaint to the City.

Brian was the one making a mountain out of a molehill. He’s the one looking for a new “M” moment here, not us.

BD used to be one of the blogs I visited regularly but the stuff being spewed by Brian Kirwin has turned a reasonable discussion of the issues into a cesspool. There’s nothing wrong, in my mind, with folks being partisan. But being partisan does not mean that you have to constantly spew disrespectful comments about your opponents.

The negativity he spews is more than tiresome.

  3. Bloody Hell, people, a candidate made one innocent, harmless mistake, and corrected it as soon as he knew of his error, and we’ve got damn near fifty comments on the topic.

Next y’ll be complainin’ that th’ damn thing still says “Virginia Beach” on it.

As Bobby might have said on the job, “Move on, people — there’s nothin’ t’ see here.”

  4. Brian doesn’t like the retorts and language — I’m heartbroken.

Has it ever occurred to him that people are bringing the discussion DOWN to HIS level? He’s the one who drops in and starts the name calling and then cries when he gets it thrown back at him. He’s like the kid who murders his parents and then complains about being an orphan.

I’ve never seen anyone so thick-headed in my life. It’s like he can’t seem to grasp the world around him and what is being said. He really has no self-awareness at all, except from an egotistical point-of-view.

Notice something else? He loves to hump about issues, but not once — NOT ONCE — has he come in here and discussed an issue. His idea of an issue is throwing spitballs at a decorated police officer whose feet he isn’t worthy to lick.

If he is so concerned about issues, maybe he should have started back in the winter and gotten a grip on some issues for Marty Williams.

Damn, how dense can one guy be? He could provoke Billy Graham to punch him in the mouth.

  5. As someone who has never even heard of Bearing Drift before reading this post, this Brian guy certainly isn’t making a good case for visiting it for rational conversation…is he the official representative?

  6. He’s the bad cop to Jim Hoeft’s supposed good cop. Hoeft never seems to make any effort to keep him in line, though. He also provided a platform for a crazy man named Squeaky Wheel to run around frothing near-obscenities for so long it’s obvious that Hoeft’s “good guy” image is just a bunch of hooey. My advice: stay away from BD, unless you want your computer to get cooties.

  7. Seems to me there are far too many operatives, some left some right , doing the bidding of candidates these days….and I thought the days of plausible deniability were behind us…and the grand hope of the blogosphere is the move the debate forward…well lets get at it and get down to issues. If the pivotal part of this contest is going to over the use of the seal god help the 21st…your gonna need it.

  8. Well, national elections have been decided on less, I’d suppose.

I don’t think we’ll ever see plausible deniability put behind us. But it does, for me, raise the issue of what candidates can do about these junior Roves (and, to a lesser extent, Shrums) who think they’re “helping” their chosen candidates with their (honestly) independent actions . . .
