Thursday, August 23rd at 7 PM, the Newport News Democratic City Committee is hosting a “Turning Newport News Blue” dinner. The event will be held at the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Hall, 812 Warwick Blvd at Union Street. From an email I received:

Hello Vivian. thanks for the plug from me also. Read the Daily Press today. You might want to cover the huge rally against Smithfield foods we are going to have on Wednesday in Williamsburg. The factions are meeting at 11 a.m. in front of the First Baptist Church and there will be plenty of excitement.
