Democratic doings this weekend

Democratic logoLabor Day represents the traditional start of the campaign season and the Democrats are kicking it off with a bunch of events this weekend. (I’ve been posting these as they came in but figured I’d put the whole list up so that you can get them all on your calendar πŸ™‚ )

Governor Tim Kaine joins Hampton Roads Democrats for three events Sunday, September 2:

  • Informal lunch and discussion with Delegate Paula Miller and Senate candidate Ralph Northam
    • Where: Azalea Inn, 2344 E. Little Creek Road, Norfolk
    • When: 1:30 pm
  • Campaign update and volunteer recognition with Delegate candidates Bobby Mathieson, Joe Bouchard, and Bob MacIver
    • Where: Combined Campaign HQ, 5101 Cleveland Street Suite 302, Virginia Beach
    • When: 3:30 pm (doors open at 3:00)
  • Fish Fry with Senate candidate Steve Heretick
    • Where: Home of Wilson & Evelyn Good, 1544 Crystal Lake Drive, Portsmouth
    • When: 4pm – 6pm

On Monday, Congressman Bobby Scott holds his 31st Annual Labor Day Picnic. The picnic will be held at 914 Shore Drive in Newport News (rain location is the Dochiki Club, located at 27th & Chesnut) from 3pm to 6pm. I expect the Governor will be there, too πŸ™‚

Oh, and don’t forget that today, August 31, is the cutoff for this financial reporting period. If you were thinking about donating, now’s the time! You can donate through each of the candidate’s websites or hit the ActBlue links in my sidebar. Even if it’s only $25, I know the candidates will appreciate it.
