Gingrich not running

According to the AP, Newt Gingrich will not be running for president in 2008.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will not run for president in 2008 after determining he could not legally explore a bid and remain as head of his tax-exempt political organization, a spokesman said Saturday.

Guess he didn’t want to give up all that money.

  1. Let’s be honest! Get serious! What office could he run for and win? His “family values” and “morality” planks are non-existant. Guess he’s actually smarter that I gave him credit for…

  2. I agree with BS – he’s like Clive all talk and no horse…or is all hat, no horse…ahh, but I mix the cliches all up!

But he is doing what he does best – spouting off from the safe sidelines. He doesn’t want the intrusion into his shady personal life and who can blame him.

  3. Now I realize that many of us may not be so inclined but his American Solutions make alot of sense. Alot of Democrats were invloved in it from across the country and I swear it could be the basis of a new platform maybe a new party sometime down the road. Alot of fiscal conservatives would find it very interesting in both parties, mostly those that are not the far right of Rep. or part of the far left of the Democrat party. If you are a Virginia moderate in the traditon of Mark Warner alot of the solutions make sense to me. Could be interesting to watch as it grows.

  4. Newtie’s Contract on America made sense too; until it didn’t. No one is moderate enough to believe what comes out of both sides of his mouth.
