News from the Heretick campaign

Steve HeretickSteve Heretick, the Democratic candidate in the 13th Senate district, has received the Suffolk Fraternal Order of Police endorsement. In awarding their support, the President, Jack Griggs said, “Steve Heretick’s positions demonstrate a strong determination to improve the quality of life for citizens of Virginia, the City of Suffolk, and for all law enforcement officers. Suffolk Lodge 41 believes Heretick’s leadership on issues such as community crime prevention, penalties for criminal offenses, and officer retirement and compensation benefits will greatly benefit our community and members.” Congratulations!

Heretick continues to campaign hard and hit his opponent, Fred Quayle on his recent comments about the Kings Highway Bridge. (For those unfamiliar with the KHB, check out this article.) Quayle has blamed the closure of the bridge on the Suffolk City Council, a position Heretick disagrees with.

“The closing of Kings Highway Bridge is yet another example of Fred Quayle being an absentee landlord,” said Councilman Steve Heretick. “Instead of being a part of the process, securing the funds and finding a solution to this problem, Mr. Quayle allowed the bridge to rot, leaving folks in Suffolk with longer commutes and leaves Hampton Roads without a key evacuation route in the case of an emergency.”

When elected, Heretick promises to “work with the local governments to find solutions to our problems.”

Heretick is also officially opening his Hopewell office tomorrow, October 4. The event will be at the new location, 500 Buren Street, from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. Contact Joseph at (804) 926-0215 for more info.

And don’t forget his BBQ on Sunday. Contact Cory at 397-9923 for additional information.

Oh yeah – don’t forget to volunteer and contribute to Steve’s campaign

  1. It’s amazing how good the environment is for Democrats right now. I never would’ve thought this race was competetive a few months ago.

  2. Hopefully Mr. Heretick will not forget he is a councilman until november and will support his portsmouth police officers with a pay plan. Now is the time to present something so we truly know he is a LAW ENFORCEMENT SUPPORTER.

    stand up and speak up!
