Yvonne Miller golf tournament

Yvonne Miller Golf TournamentSenator Yvonne Miller held her fourth annual Golf Tournament and BBQ this afternoon at the Lake Wright Golf Course in Norfolk. This was the third year that I have attended the event, although I only play golf on my Wii πŸ˜† Yvonne Miller Golf TournamentAs you can imagine, the event gets larger every year.

I arrived a little before the shotgun start, which was scheduled for 12:01pm. Golfers were gathered beneath the tents, provided by Sheriff Bob McCabe, Yvonne Miller Golf Tournamentmunching hot dogs and drinking sodas and water. Oh yeah – and buying up the mulligans πŸ™‚ (I guess I should have played – how many mulligans can you use on each hole? πŸ™„ )

Yvonne Miller Golf TournamentShortly after noon, the players were called to their carts. Among the players were the sheriff and some of his deputies and Delegate Lionell Spruill Sr. from Chesapeake. After being given instruction, they headed out to play on this gorgeous afternoon.

Unfortunately, I was unable to go back over for the BBQ, which started around 4pm. I’m told that there was a wonderful crowd for this, including the golfers.

  1. I get annoyed when an unopposed candidate holds a fundraiser when there are competitive races going on. How much has Senator Miller done for Ralph Northam to help him get elected? Will she donate any of her money raised to Ralph?

  2. This is the 4th golf tournament that Senator Miller has done. One cannot simply suspend fundraising because there is no opposition this cycle. There have been a number of fundraisers for candidates who have no opposition – some of them not even from our area! I’m not going to name names but I think y’all are aware of those events.

My understanding is that the candidates running unopposed have been instructed to contribute only to the caucus and not to the individual candidates. Senator Miller’s most recent report shows a contribution to the caucus and no doubt, she will be contributing more. Here is a list of the contributions this year to the Senate caucus.
