Lambert coming to town for Quayle

The Shad Plank, the blog of The Daily Press, reported yesterday that former Richmond Senator Benny Lambert is the special guest at a picnic for Sen. Fred Quayle this weekend in Portsmouth.

The former Senator, if you recall, backed George Allen last fall and was defeated earlier this year in a Democratic primary by Del. Donald McEachin. Two things come to mind:

  • In addition to being a former Senator, is Lambert now a former Democrat?
  • How come Quayle had to go all the way to Richmond to find a black person to support him?

Go Steve Heretick!

  1. Anon E. Mouse, from a political standpoint in a frame of reference surrounding this race, the “when” would be the point at which Lambert lost his re-election bid by virtue of failing to turn out more voters in his primary election than his opponent. Unless he has deep roots and interests in the district which I’m completely unaware of.

  2. Benny Lambert, Benedict Arnold, George Bush, Cheney, Allen. I say Benny has a great group he can now fit in with since he is retired and has free time on his hands.

  3. Perhaps “Macacca Man” Allen will give Benny a job. Saw today where he’s Fred Thompson’s campaign manager. Lets hope that’s as close as he ever gets to the Presidency!

  4. Benny Lambert was suppose to be intelligent, well that is a lie. Has he had a physical lately? I would hope that he is not of sound mind. Otherwise he sold his people for a few peaces of silver which he wont receive since sallie mae is being taken over and he is being kicked off the board… Benny you are an enemy to my people, that make you my enemy.
