And it’s Miller in the 1st

John Miller logoIf that headline looks familiar, then it’s because it is 🙂 I used that headline when announcing John Miller’s selection as the Democratic nominee about 3 1/2 months ago. It is appropriate again today as he received the endorsement of The Daily Press.

There’s a choice on Nov. 6, and it could not be more stark.

John Miller (small)The Daily Press strongly endorses the election of John Miller. Miller is a measured, experienced problem-solver who will effectively represent the interests of the people in the 1st District. He will operate from the center, and get results, where his opponent, Tricia Stall, thrives only on the fringe.

In its endorsement, The Daily Press makes the case not only in favor of Miller but against Republican opponent Tricia Stall.

The combative Stall ranks among the most politically regressive candidates for state office in modern memory.

Ouch!

But the Press makes a very good point: don’t “underestimate how likely the fringe voters are to turn out.” Just ask Marty Williams. Voter turnout for this election will be key. Do what you can to get out the vote for John Miller.

  1. I think the pitiful attempts by the Stall campaign to paint Miller as a big tax liberal are coming back to bite the Stall people. Her alignment with Stolle and Norment sent many of the faithful running. They may not vote for Miller on November 6th, but they won’t vote for Stall either. She has a signature of negative, nasty campaigning, that is sickening. I think too, what she has not accepted, is that when she won the Primary, it wasn’t so much that people liked her, as they disliked Williams. She has underestimated her support in this regard. With moderates like Chichester and many Republicans within the 1st Senate District backing Miller, the final count may be enough to get Stall out of politics for good! We can only hope. Miller has run a positive campaign, with no finger pointing or accusations. Stall has done nothing but finger point and went way over the line when she accused John of being “dishonest”. Anyone that knows John Miller, and there are many within the district, knows that is a pure, outright LIE.

The impedus for this negative slam is a poll, done by the Virginia Senate Republican Leadership Trust that showed Stall losing by 75%-Miller and 30%-Stall. This has sent her campaign into a negative frenzy and brought out the poison pen of Gear and his hit man Manny Puma. Gear needs to watch his own store, it might not be as secure as he thinks.

John Miller will be an excellent state senator and one that I can be proud of. Its been a long time in the 1st District since we had a State Senator we can trust to do the right thing for the people.

Vote on November 6th and send Tricia Stall back to her lunatic fringe friends who want to shut down the public schools.

  2. Viv,
I must encourage the masses to turn out for John Miller. Trish has tried to completely tear down an honest and trusting human being in John Miller. We need to send Trish the clearest message possible that she can serve in some other capacity but not as our state senator or for that matter any representative for the people.
Trish is beyond the flat earth republicans she actually believes through her election utopia will be created in Virginia.

  3. What is so ironic about this campaign, is that the hard slams to Stall, came not from Miller but from the Virginia Senate Republican Leadership Trust, in their mailers for Williams against Stall in the primary. These same people are now on Stall’s campaign staff.
