Theme change

Yeah, no header. And no tagline, either. But when WordPress.com released this new theme late Wednesday evening, I had to give it a go.

Let me know what you think.

Oh yeah – Happy Thanksgiving πŸ™‚

  1. Well you know me!!! I’m always for a good change of scenery. I like the “fast load” and light feel. Looks good!!!

I have a preference for 3 columns but this one is definitely a smooth and easy theme to look at!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  2. Happy Thanksgiving Vivian.

I actually liked the old theme better. Although I like a minimalist approach to things this is a bit too minimalist for my taste considering the subject matter, etc. of this blog. The old theme had an air of gravitas that seemed to be a perfect fit for your writing… or something like that… don’t pay too much attention to my ramblings, I was up way too late playing video games last night. ;>

  3. Being a conservative, I am, of course, against any kind of change. πŸ˜‰

I like the old one. Craig said what I was thinking, but did it much better because he used the word ‘gravitas.’

  4. I like it, but I tend to agree with the others that the three-column layout lends itself to your content better. Your site is a great landing source of information, and finding the information easily is a characteristic of what you’ve done well.

  5. Well… it goes well with my “white label” brand Vodka called… Vodka. And of course I have matching bottles of gin, bourbon and scotch (single malt of course).

    LOL

Actually VJP I like it alot! I’d switch my blogs over to it but I don’t want to be called a copycat…

    Grumpy

  6. Um, somebody explain “gravitas” to me 😦

As for three columns – y’all’s minds must be playing tricks on you πŸ™‚ I’ve never had a three-column theme (because WP.com doesn’t have many and none with a custom header). I do wish there was a good 3-column theme. The one I was using was the most versatile 2-column theme here at WP (IMHO, of course).

  7. I dig it. I think you can tweak and nudge it into something great. Keep at it. I think the initial disconcerting thing for your readers is the meta-info column being on the right, instead of the left.

And Grumpy, I’d be grumpy too, if I had to drink off brand gin and vodka!

  8. This theme doesn’t give me the option to put it on the left. (One of the reasons I stayed with Regulus for so long was that it had that option.)

Ah, now I know about gravitas πŸ™‚ That was a great video.
